The full form of PCOS is Poly Cystic Ovaries Syndrome. It might be interesting to note that both PCOS and PCOD are diagnosed as the same disorder caused due to over-production of the 'male hormone' androgen.

Poly means many and ‘Poly Cystic’ means many cysts. One cyst is not PCOS
