From 50-Day Cycles to Baby Boy: Basanti’s 2.5 Yr Journey

Basanti had been dealing with irregular periods since puberty. In 2018, after experiencing a period that lasted for two months, she consulted a local doctor. Tests revealed she had fibroids and gallstones, requiring two surgeries—one for fibroid removal and another for gallbladder removal. A month after the operations, her periods became irregular again. Upon further consultation with the same doctor, Basanti was diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed 21-day pills to manage her cycle. However, these pills caused heavy and prolonged bleeding, leaving her exhausted. Frustrated, she stopped taking them, only to have her periods disappear entirely for six months.
